A lot of my time is spent on trials & errors with instruments, sound tools and setups that are new - or at least new to me. While I do not consider these explorations to be music per se, I was told that publishing a few of these recordings might still be worthwile to some listeners. So I decided to start a series of EPs, simply called sound studies. The first collection of tracks consists of session recordings without any overdubs or editing and features some fine analogue synthesizers which I started to collect and combine during the lockdowns of 2021 and 2022.
One of my experimental tracks is featured on the official SOMA page as an example of how to implement electro-magnetic wave recordings into musical context. The track consists of recordings of trains - field recordings from inside and out of the train as well as audible conversions of the train’s electro-magnetic field. Somehow it creates a Jason Bourne like vibe.
